Default Amazon will change your timing belt for $699 or $249 or $120

I was on Amazon looking at the Aisin timing belt kit. I see they will install it for $699. I thought that was interesting

Interesting...I don't see an Amazon Home Services option. Guess it's not in my market yet (Raleigh, NC)...

Damn, I need to get my timing belt done. You would think since Amazon is based here in Seattle, they'd try to offer such a deal here. Anyone in the Puget Sound region that can suggest a good, decently priced shop?

I find this to be semi amazing that Amazon again is going a step further in another direction. In time it will be difficult to find something that Amazon does not do, but at the same time too much diversification could someday be their downfall.

I wonder how the repair shop is qualified and is there a minimal warranty from the shop or maybe even from Amazon. Also, what is the recourse if you do not like shop selected (probably a refund) or if there is a complication associated with the work. What role does Amazon have, if any?

It's going to be difficult to find a better deal for an all inclusive cost to buy and have this kit put on for around $500. If this is truly legitimate, other shops, dealerships will be impacted big time.

I showed your post to my local dealer here in Rochester, he could not stop laughing. If this was a true price for installation he would have to close up his shop immediately. Don't know if he was just being dramatic.
