I pulled the numbers of SC's off Wikipedia. I imagine a few thousand have been totaled out over the years. This car has that love it or hate it look . It was one of the most luxurious and well built Lexus produced using LS parts quality. The biggest problem is keeping the leather nice and all the rubber molding in good shape.

I have a 2003 white sc. 150k miles. Just had the airbag recall done. Motor mounts are next to replace (purchased from a private party so we knew when we purchased it what it needed). Fun car to drive - after driving a minivan for 12 years this is my reward!

Good idea?
I replaced the TB right after I bought it same time as I had the airbag recall performed. Way early to do TB based on 30k miles but for $1,000 at my local Lexus (using 15% off coupon) I thought it worth the piece of mind since the TB was 12 years old. I knew I was keeping the car for likely 10 more years and driving 5-7k miles per year so it made little sense to wait since doing it immediately meant I likely would not do it again.

I personally feel the 2004-2005 models may have been the highest quality SC430s particularly with regard to the leather used on the interior. And I like the old style wheels (with twisties not the fugly pie-pans). There are features in the 06-10 models that are desirable like the 6 speed AT, way better lighting, and easier to integrate/modernize audio system but I prefer the leather interior, old style wheels, and an easy to drain and fill AT complete with attached with a dip stick : ) on the 01-05s.

This talk about the SC has me itching to go home and take it for a spin. And then wash it!

Yes! A welcome change! We still have the minivan as a family car but just me running errands or just one kid in the car - it's perfect!

Default Mines been in storage most of 16 years

My 2002 SC430 was bought at the Toronto Car Show
in 2001. Amazingly beautiful Black Cherry color - only 30,800 km. Been in covered storage most of these years. I have a frustrating battery drain issue with it - easier to leave in storage than getting stuck with dead battery. Even so - it is a thing of beauty.

A simple battery tender would solve the battery issue, If its in covered storage disconnect the battery and or battery tender

Can you guide me to the thread with production numbers, I'm not proficient on this site, I've been on other forums without issue but maybe my age is catching up to me😂

I still have my 08 SC and still love to drive it. No plans on replacing her. We bought a new truck and traded in the 09 ES350. Even though the truck is fun, I'd rather drive my SC. She has 96k miles on her. Looks new on the outside. The inside seems so outdated now that we have a brand new truck.
