I know from where I speak. I had a Mitsu 3000GT VR4 and an Acura NSX. C&D Magazine panned the VR4 because it was "too forgiving" in it's handling because it was dificult to lose control of in high speed maneuvering (sp??)and they claimed the NSX "wasn't a purists exotic car because it didn't have the "lovable" quirks of a Ferrari".

I guess when you write for a car magazine you look forward to a little excitement like overheating brakes, poor shifting, lack of control, convertible tops that get stuck, high revs and constant stalling.

They also said that the NSX was as "docile as an Accord when driving around town". And this to them was a bad thing ??

Bottom line.....if the SC430 sucks, then I am proud to be called an a * * hole for buying one !

 

Well said, Larry! I was actually test driving M3s when I saw a recently traded SC sitting on the lot. I drove the SC and within two weeks purchased one, trading in my Audi TT 225. Have you ever tried driving an M3 with SMG II in auto mode? I can't believe they sell! Anyway, I just had my SC in for the 5k service and Lexus customer service is light years beyond what Audi tries to pass off as customer service.

 

Hey dsimo... I traded in an Audi A6 4.2 Quattro for my SC. The Audi was a wonderful car and it only had 11,000 miles on it, but you're right... the service is unbelievably horrible. This was magnified by the fact that I was just coming out of a Lexus... but even Nissan, Mitsu, and Acura service far surpassed this experience with cars less than half the price. Every time I visited the dealership, Champion Porsche-Audi, I had to laugh when I thought about people purchasing $90,000 911's being subjected to the same treatment I received.

Well, others in this forum have heard my tirades on Audi service enough times, so I'll spare you the details. Suffice to say... you made a great decision. Welcome back from the dark side!

 

agree.... went to vegas over the mem. weekend... i had so many people still pointing at my car as i drove down the strip... with top UP .... many complements still. . . ..
