The rear spoiler was bolted on the rear trunk.
Lexus did import some SC without the spoiler and
there is a slight lip on the trunk and that might be what
you are thinking.
Welcome to the Club.. let me know if you need some
help if you ever decide to do the upgraded LED 06-10 tail lamps

Can the rear spoiler be removed without leaving any bolt holes showing?
I think the trunk looks better w/o spoiler.

That I am not sure
I would leave it on. Have you done the
T/B , waterpump? How is the battery and the
rear trunk shocks , speakers and the TPMS? These are
items that go out

Check with Mandy
He is another SC fan that might know
why take it off. I think the tail might look odd
actually without the spoiler
I see the Silver one has no Spoiler and it looks
Odd in my opinion
Have you made sure your WGC is original paint?

Jonas,
I think the car looks better without rear spoiler. Any info on removal would be of great help.
I believe the paint and everything is original to the car. How to know for certain?

A paint meter would be the way to tell for sure if the car has
ever been repainted
however , with pearl white and silver , if you look from the side and
not straight on, it is pretty apparent if the car panels were ever repainted
the other sign the car has been repainted is if the vin stickers were
missing on each panel. I am quite picky but some might
not care if the car was ever repainted

Jonas,
Vin stickers on panels? Which panels are you referring to?
My car is pretty straight. Like you, I'm very careful about
selecting a car with original paint. I feel the texture on the car,
look for panels being straight and smooth, look for overspray.
I look at the history of the car, the undersides, etc. I avoid
cars from the Northeast or Midwest.
For instance, the silver SC430 that I was considering spent it's
first two years in Minnesota. It was very clean but I wanted to
avoid a car driving in snow and salt. There's no way of knowing
if a previous owner didn't drive his car thru salt even if he resided
in Florida or California.
BTW, do you know if the steel panels/chassis on the SC430 were zinc coated/galvanized?

Yep , if you open the doors, hood, fenders and trunk
there should be a vin sticker on each panel
if you look closely on the Pebble Beach I was about
To buy, you can see the different white tone from the sideview
But looking straight on the panels, it is hard to tell.
I actually bought my WGC from a FL Ferrari/ Masareti dealer
and I am from CA sight unseen but I had my SC inspected from
The Lexus Dealer .

If you are determined to remove the spoiler, call dealership parts dept, they may have a way to send you copy (diagram) of the spoiler to your cell.(MMS) or drivein and they will show you...
