I personally despise the blood-red interior, but that's definitely just a personal preference thing. I know others love the look. I had a 2009 Pebble Beach and I did really like the Ecru leather with Black Birdseye Maple interior -- great contrast with the light leather and dark wood. The Tourmaline wheels on the 2009 are also very nice!
I prefer the white/red, but if I was considering buying one of the cars, I would go with the '09
so rik, what happened that you went from an '09 to a '06?
It's kind of a long story, but basically I stupidly decided that I really wanted the amenities to be found in the more modern IS350C (push-button start, large touch-screen, key-car entry, backup camera, streaming blue-tooth, etc.). I traded the '09 Pebble Beach in on a 2012 IS350C, and then almost immediately regretted it. The IS350C is a nice enough car, but it certainly lacks the amazing character and "flagship" qualities that I took for granted in the SC430.
I moved back into the SC430 line with a low-mileage 2002 SC430, but was dissatisfied with the ride quality and old-fashioned (non-Electroluminescent) gauges, so I traded the 2002 in on my current 2006. My current car has 19K miles and still smells new, and I have hopefully learned my lesson and will keep this one a LONG time. I do miss the '09 Pebble Beach at times, though... there's something to be said for the exclusivity of the PB line, and the puddle lights on the side-view mirrors were nice.
