had all day to play (King day)
Had a lot of free time today, so catching up on needed chores. Fresh oil and filter change, hand wash and mcquire wax, leds installed in reverse lights, new oem floor mats installed. Removed tailpipe tips to clean and polish.
New shoes ordered from tire rack/ TB kit ordered from ebay. Crank pulley holder ordered from amazon. Guess you can guess what I will doing in about a week!
Got the 06 about a week ago and you can tell it was just a dd. Still nice though.

I got my air bag recall done for the 2nd time at the dealer (1st time was in 2013). Then went on to an indie shop just behind where I work and had them replace my timing belt, water pump and tensioner pulley (& of course the antifreeze) also for the 2nd time. I also had the valve cover gasket and steering wheel pump fluid replaced. (I had already had the valve cover tightened 6 months to a year ago, so it was time to have that done also.)

is this valve cover bolt thing a common issue on these engines? Never heard of that before

Valve Cover Nuts
BeeJeez: Noticed a very small oil leak under the engine compartment on floor of garage. Just one drip, then two the next day... but it wasn't too bad. Checked it over a few days and it kept dripping, very slowly. Saw in the Engine compartment just below valve covers some oil residue. Checked this fantastic site, and read up on the infamous valve cover bolts/nuts.
Many posters said they loosen over time and at times can be found to be so loose you can turn them with your fingers. So instead of getting new valve cover gaskets (which I may have to eventually), I decided to try and tighten the valve cover bolts. Although its a bit tricky getting to them, I tightened them and Wallah, no more leaks of any kind. So it did the trick. I do watch it closely, but so far so good. If you see a small drop of two below the engine, you may wish to tighten the bolts. You should be able to find numerous posts on the topic on this site.
Good Luck.

Yes, the valve cover bolts do appear to loosen over time but most likely that is the gasket getting a set and losing its flex. So you can just tighten them at least once and get away with it but you'll likely need to again soon and keep on doing it on a regular basis thereafter. At that point, it is worth just replacing the gasket.

I just ordered these from AliExpress.com in late Jan 2019, but that specific product link is no longer active. Maybe try this link and go from there?
