Chrome covers and caps, silver wheels
Saw this the other day and thought it was interesting as I run SC430 wheels on my ES300. I have a set of the chrome covers sitting in the garage that I got for $25 shipped, it was too good to pass up. I was planning on plasti coating the wheel and cap silver. But I still love my pie plates so that's what I run now.
Just a word of caution, our SC430 rims are quite heavy for the ES. Suggest that you do not use it for the ES. I had a friend do it and it ruined the tires. It may look good, but not really worth it.
Your call though.
Your call though.
..I kind of like the look, it wouldn't hurt to switch the center pieces out & see what it looks like. Also, check to see if you can find the weight of the Sc wheel & compare it to the weight of the Es wheel, there may not be that much difference
I just jumped on the chrome ones because they were too good a deal to pass up at $25 shipped and I could not find any silver ones for under $300 a set, which was more than the cost of the wheels so I couldn't justify it. Now I see they are on ebay for $120 a set which is far more reasonable for 4 pieces of molded plastic. It's a unique wheel and the ability to change the look with a simple hubcap change is a really cool feature. They certainly are heavy with tires, I am hoping they will lighten up once the run flats are swapped for a normal set of tires.
