Default Sport wheels vs Luxury

Hello everyone I just purchased a 02 SC430 and been lurking on this forum for a while now. I am planning on getting some new wheels. My dilemma is what kind of wheels should I get. I like both sport and chrome wheels. It seems that everyone is going towards the sport wheels and modding their cars.

Congratulations on your acquisition and welcome to the forum!

What wheels you decide on will depend on your tastes. Just don't get cheapie wheels that may wind up causing shaking problems.

I used to run chrome wheels but when I changed to a light weight non chrome wheel it was a night and day difference in terms of performance. Specifically acceleration and throttle response are impacted by wheel weight. I'm not sure if I fully understand, but the rotating weight seems to have a exponentially increasing impact on reducing performance. If you can get wheels around 20 pounds or less, that would be the sweet spot in terms of price and performance. Wheels less than 17 pounds seem to be outrageously expensive.

But if you just like cruising around, chrome is a fine choice in terms of style in my opinion. I think a lot of people on this forum lean towards performance light weight wheels, but like the other person said it is purely a matter of opinion..

Lol. Thanks for everyone's reply. I wanted deep dish wheels. Traffic star Design to be exact but it seems like deep dish wheels are old school and concave are in

Be ahead of the curve and wait until next week to buy new wheels. The fashion police will be pumping the new best thing in just a couple days! (the devil made me do it)
