Rear wheel stud removal Question
I need to replace one wheel stud on the passenger side rear. Read an old post that said jack up the car remove wheel spay the stud you need to knock out with WD 40 or PB Blaster. Wait 10 minutes smack it with a small sledge hammer and out it comes. Now I have done that on some older classics but is it that simple on the SC. I have not really jacked it up to give it a good inspection, but I would think you may need to remove the rear rotor and maybe the back cover I saw when I took a quick look under the car.
It's probably worth taking the wheel off in any case. Even if someone tells me exactly how to do it and shows pics, I always get a better idea when I see the actual parts.Sorry, I know it's not what you asked exactly, but just putting that out there.
You do need to remove the rotor to get to the stud and just use a hammer to wack it out. It's not that hard to do , when you install the new stud you need a air wrench to do it. I think will44 has a DIY about this. Do a search.
Here is a link to show how the studs are put in, my post was to show how you can put in longer studs.
You will have to remove the rotor/drum to access it then just tap it with a club hammer to remove it. Replace it as my post shows.

Thanks looked at the link everything looks simple enough. Will work on stud replacement in the next few weeks, not critical just had one that won't torque down can snug it up pretty good but spins before the torque setting is reached. All other studs on wheel torque to specs.
