the price im offering is 9500 car looks clean but it has 166000 miles
any input would be appreciated

Look at its service and Carfax/insurance history. If it is in good shape with no accidents and the maintenance has been kept up, go for it. These cars should last for a long time and a lot of miles. There are lots of cars on this forum with many more miles than that. $9500 would be a good price if it is in good shape.

When was the timing belt/water pump done ? Serpentine belt ? When were shocks replaced if any ? Spark plugs ? Last brake flush ? Rear diff fluid ? Possibly power steering fluid ? The oil/filter change is the easy part.
