Dying leather seats
Someone suggested that I dye my leather seats. They are Ecru (beige) and are showing their age. Has anybody else ever done this and did you have good results?

I used a product called Leather Magic on the seats in my 87 Cadillac Allante but that is a 27 year old car and the leather was rough. The result was a good improvement, but not perfect. I would not do it on my SC430. Hopefully a system of regular maintenance will keep the leather looking good for a long time. Paul

I have seen many members on the sc400 and sc430 sections use SEM products to change the color of their leather completely and just touch it up. some comments have been positive that the dye lasted several years others have said they would not do it again. I have a 2002 sc430 with the Ecru, used the SEM spray can on the cracks that form do to age. it has been about a year since I did it, when I first sprayed it looked good, so I would recommend it. I need to touch it up again because nothing is a permanent fix even if you get new leather seats eventually you will see wear. search both forums and try it the can of spray is only $8. good luck

I work for a Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealership and we have someone come in to do leather and minor interior work on the used cars and I had him dye/touch up the leather seats in my SC that has camel interior and it turned out great looking. the seats were not that bad but i could tell something was spilled on them and it just left like a residue mark. I will take pictures when its sunny.
