Thanks.
Curious as to why you would want to dsable DRL. Do find them to be offensive looking? Only time I see them is when I pull up to a glass storefront.

tofu may not respond since the profile has not been logged on since Dec 2020.
I guess someone might want them off to extend the life of the bulb/led.

The SC yellow DRLs really ugly. I disabled and install external DRLs. Love them.

The half power high beams look like the incandescent headlights on my 1966 volvo when the alternator was failing. Not a good look for somewhat modern high end luxury car. The first thing I did when I got my Techstream system talking to my SC, was to turn them off. I took independent control of the fog lights, installed 6000k 4800LM LED bulbs in them and use them as my DRL's.

The only bad thing using fog lights as DRLs is the headlight switch must be ON.

No. I took independent control of them. Independent of everything else, including the headlight switch.

I have purchased the LED bulbs and wiring interface from retrofit and veld to have LED drl and LED high beams, in both cases the drl light flicker,
is there a way to eliminate the drl but keep the high beam functionality? I did not see this question in this thread

thanks in advance

Dave

Techstream allows you to turn them off.

I found an obd2 device that has a similar to techstream software that turned off my DRL’s, now I can have a functioning high beam.

I tried many LED highbeam options, the only ones I found that actually work properly with DRLs is VLEDS: https://www.vleds.com/shop-applicati...ing-light.html

Pricey, but they work like OEM only modern. (PS. I removed the 194 DRL bulb completely without issue.)

Other than that, disabling in techstream is the next best option.

I tried the VLED route and I still had flickering with two different part numbers, this may be something in the 2002 model year and the ECM. I ended up disabling my DRL but kept the high beams that I badly needed

I have a 2006, maybe something changed after the facelift.

the fine folks at VLED kept with me after I gave up and they found me the part to keep my DRL's (LED) without the flickering and a way more power and focused high beam.
