Personally, I have a 15 yo daughter that "thinks" she gets my 430 next year.....WRONG on soooo many levels. First it is a small car with a v8 and what I consider too much power for a 1st time driver. Second it will be her first car and I know what I did to my first car and how I treated it. Kids will be kids but not in my 430!! She gets he mothers 08 equinox.....or she walks.......end of conversation. LOL!!

If teenagers could pick their own cars, the high school parking lot would be filled with Corvettes.
For the most part, the lots are filled with Honda Civics, so perhaps there is hope for the future.

A little off topic, but would any of y'all consider the SC a girly car? My wife laughed when I showed her an SC I wanted.

If it's a girlie color, sure.
But Black is OK.

If by girlie car you mean attracts the girls, you are right. Try one in Texas and you may get the same results! The girls love my SC!!!

I was at Best Buy today having an aux audio installed. i had the top down to give the installer more room. 3 teen aged BOYS approached the car salivating over it. I got a WOW, what a good looking car, is it new? Nope I said. It's 5 years old with almost 50,000 miles on it. They couldn't believe it.

Driving through the supermarket parking lot with the top down yesterday a cute 16 year old girl gave the car a double take and gave me a smile. I'm old enough that she could be my grand daughter.

The weather has been perfect for top down driving here in a Florida the last few months. I just have to remember to wear a ball cap so I don't get my bald spot sun burnt.

Buy a used 2002 or 2003 SC and an RX300. You can easily buy both for your $30K budget.

I just bought a 2007 SC430 with 11K miles on it for $32K, but it's practically a brand new car. A 2002 with 90K miles will be almost as nice.

I'm just using my kids as a cover because I would love to have an SC, but I have too many cars according to my wife.
Guess that's what I get for not reading the whole thread first. Who cares that your kids don't like it. They're not making the money. Just buy the SC for yourself.

I've finally decided! I will either buy a GS or a 2005 Lexus SC430 Pebble Beach Edition(black w/pimento red), whichever one I can get a good deal on.
