Has Anyone Heard from VVTiBob Lately?
I noticed VVTiBob hasn't posted here since 10/17/12, has anyone heard from him? He was always very active on this forum, it's strange he seemingly disappeared lately.
I understand he's an older gentlemen, I hope everything is okay with him.

scdroptop told me at the start of the year that he had life changes going on (new job, IIRC) and his time had become extremely limited. He was basically taking a sabbatical from the forum due to priorities.

I'm still kicking....
Hey everyone,
Wow...didn't realize my absence would be noticed let alone a thread about it.
I appreciate all the nice comments...JohnnyCakes emailed me a couple of days ago letting me know of the concerns on the board...but reading this thread I now realize he really trying to track down his mentor Habious. I can report I have no knowledge of Habious' current whereabouts (wink, wink). No matter what wild fantasies pop into Johnny's head.
As for me, in late September I started a long delayed landscaping pool remodeling project we've talked about for years. Since I am semiretired I wanted to do a lot of the work myself to manage costs and, crazy me, I thought it would be good exercise too. While I have lost weight working on this, I ain't in my 20's 30's or 40's no more. Heck I'm just trying to hang on to my fifties.
Besides the physical side, I ran into the government meat grinder on the mental side. In trying to do this project following the laws/rules/regulations (we are not in a HOA, thank God) I ran into bureaucratic issues, gov employees who just made things up as we went along, tried some sort of legalized extortion for 6K in permits and fees which led to a level of frustration combined with the physical side that triggered health issues. I found myself hospitalized and then having to follow on with a healthy hearts PT program after some unexpected surgery. I suppose I have to change my diet and give up some of life's little pleasures. The alternative is not fun at all.
Well after all that, the new, or should I say remodeled, pool passed its final inspection yesterday. Last night we were able to enjoy our new spa for the first time. But I still have more that 900 square feet of deck to deal with along with a whole new yard planting..but the project is coming together nicely now that the City is out of the picture.
So I hear I have some catching up to do on the forum...I'll start going through threads soon and offer what I can from time to time.
Once again thank you all for your thoughts and concern.
Best Regards,
Bob

Glad you are better Bob and getting your pool project completed.
How could you think you would not be missed on the Forum!!!
You are the definitive dictionary of all things SC and probably lots of other stuff we are not aware of.
Welcome back and stay healthy.
Best regards
Steve

Good luck on the healthy eating. About a year ago i gave up about everything but fish, brown rice, fruits, vegetables, oatmeal/oatbran nuts and water. going out to eat was a joyless bummer.
Eliminated alcohol, red meat, cheese, caffeine, bread, sauces, sweets.
Then about 2 months ago started slowly bringing all of it back but alcohol and red meat. And up went my blood pressure again.
So here i go again. Find the few fruits you like the best. For me its fuji apples and satsuma tangerines, along with blueberries.
Still a cookie would be nice. Good luck
