Just had Luxlink installed!
Just had Chip at Audio Itch in Tampa install my Luxlink! I love it, I can now enjoy the beauty of the engineering behind the hard-top retacting from somewhere other than the driver's seat. I don't know if I'll use the remote start often, but I know the remote top up/down will be used all the time. Imagine pulling in to the parking lot and parking. As you walk away your car closes it's top and locks the doors seemingly by itself! Or as you walk back to it, the top goes down and the doors unlock. Priceless! I didn't get the rear window control or additional alarm feature because I didn't think I would use them. Can't wait to see the reactions............

Congratulations on getting your Luxlink installed. I'm in the Mid Atlantic but am curious about what it cost to install it, if you wouldn't mind letting me know through a PM if you don't want to mention it on the forum, it would be appreciated. Also, did he give you a quote on how much more it would have been to add the rear window control?

I think the Luxlink costs $100 more for the rear window control when you buy the unit. You can also pay another $100 more for an added alarm feature. The place I went to charged $70 per hour to install. I had them change out the face plate the covers the climate control unit too, so I don't know how much time that took. In total they charged me $275, which I was happy to pay because they had to take inside drivers door panel completly off and do all the under dash wiring. I wouldn't even attempt that. good luck!

$275 is a good price just for the LuxLink, especially if they did a good job.
When you decide that the range of the remote is just too limited and want to be able to drop the top from anywhere in the world via your cell phone, check out this Luxlink mod.

Long Distance
If you don't want to use your cell phone but still want greater range than the Factroy FOB's afford, here is a link to a DIY Viper system install : http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...ID~131859~PN~1 Up to one mile range, command confirmation, total closure and no spare key under the dash.
