I have made a custom exhaust with two mufflers, but I have the original exhaust tips. I polished them up and made them all shiny the other day, but then I noticed the tips, mainly the left, has a severe rattle. I could really tell as I pulled into the garage with the top down. I don't think it is a problem, but it annoys the crap out of me. Anyone know what could be causing this? If i tap on the tip, I can duplicate the rattle. I don't think it is the muffler, because it only sounds like it is coming from the tip.

They're screwed on. Is the screw missing or loose?

I tried to tighten the screw, but I think it is actually stripped. Once I get it up in the air, hopefully I can see everything.

Yea the tip is just a screw that holds it in place. You can see the screw by just looking under. Maybe you should just weld them on.

How hard would that be to remove it if I ever choose to, if I end up welding it? It seems that the rattle only happens once the car has been running for awhile and the exhaust is hot.
