where is the seatbelt chime?

If you are asking how to turn off the seatbelt chime, it can be done. There's a thread on seatbelt chime. Follow instructions step by step. It works. The only thing is you have to hold the button down a long 30 seconds. They tell you 12 seconds. But I believe that thread was for a 3GS. It's the same. It does work

3GS instructions require pressing the start button several times, what's the equivalent for that in the SC430?

I didn't know this could be done outside the dealership. A Google search lead me to these instructions for another Lexus model. Anyone try this with success? Tips?
1. turn the key to the ON position (press Start 2 times), foot off the brake
2. cycle the odometer with the trip reset button until the ODO is displayed (not trip A or B )
3. turn the ignition to the LOCK (OFF) position
4. unbuckle the driver's seatbelt if it was buckled.
5. turn the key to the ON position (Press Start 2 times). when the dash lights have come on, press and hold the trip reset button and count a slow 12 seconds. (editor's note, hold it more like 30 sec)
6. while still holding the trip reset button, buckle the driver's side seatbelt.
7. the odometer display should read "b ON" or "b OFF". toggle the beep OFF with the trip reset.
8. the process should be completed when you unbuckle or turn the key off
To turn on again just simply repeat process and make appropriate selection at step 7.

Yes, that is the instructions. It worked on my 3gs and my SC430. The only difference in the SC is you have to count longer. Everytime the man with the seatbelt flashes, count. By the time your antenna powers up, or you hear the antenna stop powering, you should put the seatbelt on. That's when you should see buzzer off or on. Just have patience. My Gs was quicker than my SC. It works!!

We have a long driveway with our mailbox out on the main street. Daily, when we check the mail (while in the SC), we are forced to either listen to the stupid seat belt chime or buckle-up while driving slowly down our 1/3 mile long driveway. I have longed wanted to silence that seatbelt chime. I "thought" the only way was to install the NAVIK controller (or whatever the name is for the radio integrator unit). Finally, I searched the forum to see if others had found where the chime was located and disconnected it. I now know the chime is part of the spiral clock mechanism so impossible to physically disable. This past thread gave me hope, but I tried all the referenced procedures and none worked on my 2006 SC. (I understand this built-in feature started with the 06 model, but I am not sure.) Here is what I tried and it worked:
1. turn the key to the ON position, foot brake off, seatbelt NOT buckled
2. press the TRIP/RESET button until the TRIP 2 mileage is displayed
3. turn the key OFF
4. turn the key to ON and within 6 seconds press and hold the TRIP/RESET button (this will change the display from the TRIP 2 mileage to the ODOMETER mileage)
5. continue to hold the TRIP/RESET button down for 40-50 seconds
6. fasten the Driver's seatbelt (I had pulled my out before starting this procedure so it would not be so difficult)
7. the ODOMETER mileage reading should change to read "b - on"
8. release and press ONCE the TRIP/RESET button, which should change the display to "b - off"
9. turn the key OFF
Be interested to know if anyone else tries this. Let me know!
Cheers,

maarp, if you were to leave your belt off, the chime comes back on and chimes even longer before quitting, then a few seconds later repeats the process over ... and over ... and over ... and over :-) It's nice to know that you turn that chime off after the first reminder.
