I just got my D4S bulbs and have decided to change all the bulbs in the housing because it is such a PITA to get to the bulb sockets. There is a small bulb at the top of the housing that I do not know what it is. I think it is a #168, but what does it do? Any ideas? Also, I want to change the high beams to match the color temp of the HIDs to about 4300K. Should I just go with the 4100K Sylvania?

If you're referring to the tiny wedge bulb that is in the same housing as your DRL/High Beams, that is your Parking Lights. Those lights are on whenever your headlights are on at night. If you want to change those out, go with these bulbs:

For your DRL/High Beams, do you use your high beams a lot ?

I have these bulbs and I strongly agree/endorse them! They are a major PITA to get to as well! Go through the wheel well if you can. Turn the wheel towards the engine.

I just put these in a they look great. I also used them for the doors lights.
