Fastest cars you've raced and beaten

Just wondering... whats the coolest/fastest car you've raced with your sc430 and beaten? I raced a roush mustang and kicked its ass. same with a trans am firebird. what about you guys?

Poqman 09-28-11 06:39 PM

I'm surprised. What was the race? rolling start, off the line, top end speed or measured distance? Just wondering.

IcEnPinKi 09-28-11 08:41 PM

im surprised as well. i dunno but the sc430 isn't really built for performance.

grabber2 09-28-11 09:23 PM

I never race my SC............

robertrios 09-28-11 09:45 PM

its so hard to tell ive "raced" an ls430, automatic supra non turbo, several ricer cars (integra, eclipse, civics) and done pretty well. Also an MR2 and a porsche (no idea which but it wasnt new)...this is all on the street so its more like playing around I dont think an unmodded sc430 would do too well on a track race...maybe if you got rid of the lag when you floor it.

ive raced a v6 camry and almost beat it

husker741 09-28-11 10:48 PM

I'm talking just street drag racing. Jw, you lost to a camry? My previous owner must have souped up my car then.. Ive taken down g35s and 350zs in drags. A camry? That surprises me.

Hey Husker,
If you want to be around for your 21st birthday, I would suggest that you do your drag racing at THE TRACK....

:thumbup::thumbup: Me neither!

Street racing ain't cool!!
It's stupid, immature and dangerous!
Go to your local drag strip if you want to race!

Just my opinion...

I agree! If you bought the car to race, race it at the track!

mandyfig 09-29-11 08:13 AM

I am more of the punching of the gas pedal to hear the grumble (Injen). No racing intended. Usually do it from a stop on a light. That's about it. Once they see the SC, everybody backs off anyway.

And if somebody did get pissed and want race, I slow down to 20 miles/hr.

husker741 09-29-11 08:20 AM

So seeing you are all in bigger cities, I could understand your concern for street racing. The only "track" near me is in iowa and only ricers race there. Out on this country road outside of omaha, there is a street that is very close to being a quarter mile, and then a street with many twists and turns. officials close it off and make it safer, yet it is still on the "street" and not an actual track. Just to clarify for you all. Street racing is dumb, but when they create a track atmosphere and close it off, I still call it street b/c it is much better than those ricers. I think it actually use to be a landing strip for the quarter mile. Please excuse my misinterpretation. I know I am younger than most of you, but im not stupid.

i'm old and now and then the testosterone still kicks in when someone challenges. However, the price of fines these days overrides the temptation.
I've seen a couple of the Rousch Mustangs run. The one Husker encounted must have been sandbagging or hashed out, because there is no way MY SC would touch it.
