Hello friends,

I just purchased a 2002 SC430 and I have noticed an intermittent dome light issue. With all the doors closed, if I push the button by the visor to turn it one of them on, sometimes the light will come on and sometimes it will not. Same thing happens when I open the doors (with the switch in "door mode"), sometimes one light will come on and sometimes the other will come on, rarely both at the same time. The attached picture is from eBay (for reference purposes only, mine is on the car, not detached).

Sometimes if I press the button multiple times it will come on after the 3rd or 5th push, yet sometimes it will come on after the first push, and sometimes it may not come on for 20 pushes in a row. I cannot seem to find the logic in this.

If anyone has any idea what to look for please chime in, I am a new SC430 owner and I could use any assistance you can provide. Thank you.

 

Mine did something like that, i took the lenses off and replaced the lamps, cleaned the contacts and now no issues.

Thanks, I will give that a shot. I really hope its not a serious electrical problem.

 

I cleaned my contacts like mentioned here and it seems to be working well so far... hope it stays that way.
