Default SC430 Diet

I want to put my SC430 on a diet for Summer weather. She's already on low-carbs

I have been looking for and couldn't find a carbon fiber hood to shed some weight...Whether it's the hood or something else, what have people removed or replaced to make it lighter?

Also dump the trashcan wheels and RFTs for lighter wheels and tires.

I've changed the rims and runflats. I was thinking about taking out the spare but I don't know if I want to chance getting stuck somewhere with a flat lol

oh, yea. I remember seeing your post on that awhile ago. I'll have to look into that. Have you seen anyone remove the entire back seat and just put up a carpet or leather lining? That may eliminate some of the weight.

Hi red,

Re: Have you seen anyone remove the entire back seat and just put up a carpet or leather lining?

The day that someone has a kit for that, I'll be first in line.

At least BMW had the good sense to make the rear seatbacks fold-down so it could become a decent storage area.

@PLAYTYM: Actually, now that I think about it, I guess I could downgrade to 18" sport rims instead of the 20" I have now lol

Redliner8 to make it lighter you could always paint it white with light tan interior! lol Ok so you make it lighter, for what reason? You could always strip the interior, take all the mechanics for the retractable top, strip out all the trunk lining. Smaller and thinner tires and wheels. For what purpose, are you planning on picking it up? Better gas mileage? I guess I'm just missing the point. But then I'm old.

Hahaha mainly to increase acceleration and better handling. It feels heavy when I'm driving it. Kind of like driving by yourself then driving with a couple passengers, you can feel the weight. I think I notice it more now because I visited a high performance shop in our area with crazy modified drag cars, it made me a bit jealous lol.

Don't let the wife or girlfriend ride with you. That could save significant weight in some cases.

Tom's makes one, but it's ridiculously expensive.
