Project Lexus Sc570
I hope the shot of the SC in the movie isn't just the car blended in with a hundred other cars or just a quick drive by. I doubt that it will be one of the main cars featured in the movie but I would hope that it would at least be shown enough so that people other than us owner would remember the car.
Hopefully this exposure would also open up companies to start manufacturing more aftermarket parts for the SC430. Like say some..... anti-sway bars!! (you reading this Daizen!
) Plus the that fact the car (year 2002) can now easily be purchased at such a low price, that even Civic ricers can afford, it too might help with aftermarket availability.
ok but think about this buy an sc430 high miles with a nice interior/exterior...ive seen some for 13-15k recently (2002-03) then drop a lower mileage tundra powertrain/drvetrain in it for around 19k including labor...thats a bad *** car for under 30k easy. if we are just throwing numbers out here without implications of taxes or other mods thats 25k....not to mention if you get lucky to buy an SC430 that has engine or tranny problems on the cheap (dosent matter because your swapping) and you sell the engine tranny or both yourself to make up some of the money....seems cost effective! Only thing is you need the capital
and the time.
and the time.
Hello from a nube,
Special thanks to VIPNISS from coming over and helping me get the SC started tonight! The car is going to be awesome. FYI this Lexus will also be getting the TRD Supercharger for the Tundra 5.7.
Coincidentally:
"The new TRD 5.7-liter 3UR Supercharger System features the same Roots-type Eaton four-lobe supercharger recently introduced by the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V and the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. Boost peaks at 8.5 psi and the output has been certified according to SAE test procedures at 504 hp at 5,500 rpm and 550 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm."

What's funny is that any anyone wanting a supercharged ZR1 Vette is going to have to pay 120k for it. I am going to get the same Supercharger and reliability for just over $5k. If you ask me I would much rather have a Tundra powered, TRD Supercharged Lexus.

I still have the factory tank and pump in the car that should be ok for idling. The hard lines are still there too. I just have to connect them in the engine bay and wire in the pump really quick and we are in business. Wait till you hear it!
