Welcome Steve! Like the European look with the plates. SC appears in top condition. Are they hard to find in London?

Welcome to the 'Club' Steve. I too am amazed at all the info you glean from the professional members here. Best site I have found to date and I check it regularly like Facebook! Talk at you later.

steve, l'm liking the front grill debadge.
it's a simple mod that really shows.

now, if you can figure a way to mod it to left hand drive,
you'd really have something.
cheers!

Hi Poqman
Thanks for the welcome.
The SC is quite a rare car in the UK, you can go weeks without seeing another.
Since I fitted the wheels it seems to get far more comments, mostly people say "what is it?".
Unless you have a personalised Reg (as I have) in the UK all cars have a 'year of reg' letter or number within the Reg Plate so nobody believes my car is 9 years old. The SC was withdrawn from sale here about a year ago, because Lexus decided only to sell hybrids here.
The SC is pretty unique and the only rival is really the MB SL.
Our 'wonderful' Top Gear presenters ridiculed the car a couple of years ago so it is not very well respected over here.
I have owned BMW's, Merc's, Jag's etc, etc and the SC is by far the best and I love it.

May I ask why you chose the Megan EZ's and not the LP's?
Just interested before I decide which to order.
Did you install yourself?

Best Steve

Hi Grabber2

My wheels are 19's
10 x 19 with 38 offset and 8.5 x 19 with 28 offset.

Difficult to find nice wheels in the UK and although mine are great and no problem at all, they are probably Chinese copies!!!
You guys have a fantastic choice, but just to expensive to ship.

Sorry grabber2, I meant to attach a close up of the wheel.

Thanks for the welcome JC

I wish I had the smooth front lines of the SC without the front plate liker you guys.
As I said to Poqman a while ago, yes they are quite a rear sight in London, you almost feel you should wave when you see another.
Never seen a 'customised SC, not even one with different wheels. I have seen Aquanuke's radical SC on the forum and he is in London somewhere.

Hi Jimmer

You can't yet a cheaper mod than removing the grill badge, make the car look far more aggressive, I think.

Now, how do I go about making it LHD? Maybe I could move to the US with it when I have figured it out!!!

Steve, I did install myself. See my post on how I installed.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...r-install.html

I saw the three biggest differences between the LP's and the EZ's were damper adjustability, the pillow ball upper mounts on the LP and price. The EZ has 15 Levels of Adjustable Damper Strength while the LT has 32. The EZ spring rate is a hair stiffer, but you can just dial down the dampening if you want more of a stock feel, or you can bump the dampening up for more spirited driving. They both have the same height adjustments. The LP has a metal pillow mount, while the EZ uses a rubber mount like your factory struts. The pillow mount is suppose to be better for tracking because of the way that it swivels more freely, but I don't think you will notice a difference. With 96k miles, my goal was to return the feel of the ride back to its original ride and lower the car 2 inches. I decided that I could accomplish that with EZ's and save $350. I'm completely satisfied with the EZ's. Good luck with your mod. You can't go wrong with the LP or EZ.

I saw that review on YouTube. I didn't agree with anything they said!

I had read your great post before, but did not remember it was from you. Your detail and the replies from other members will help me make my decision and with the install. I have bookmarked the post and will refer to it again.

Welcome to the forum Steve. Nice wheels.

You're right, it is a great car.

I wish we had the folding rear view mirrors, mine would get banged less if we did.

I don't suppose you have cooled seats there, do you?

Thanks for the welcome Harold57.

I wish our mirrors would fold automatically when we turn off the ignition, I am sure it can be programmed, but Lexus say no.

Cooled seats!! is that really an option over there?
We have heated seats.

Another couple of things I noticed we have, not sure if you do.
Our 'Shift Lock' is a button on the centre console, I think your is under a removable cover. We also have a 'Headlamp Washer' button as well as the auto function. Also our side markers are just reflectors, I think yours are lights. Please correct me if I am if I am wrong about any of these things.

Lets see..

Our mirrors fold but only manally,
The shift lock release in under a small cap on the center console, you have to remove the cap with a flat blade and then depress the level to manually release the transmission
We do have headlamp washers which is also manual press button next to where you have your mirror retract switch.
Our front and rear side markers are both, reflective and backlit. Orange front red rear.

Any idea's why we have a button and you have a cover? Maybe they think we Brits wouldn't know how to remove the cover!!! Can just see it in my photo.

Maybe I will tint my 'reflectors' blue. We probably only have them because you have to and it would mean different panels for UK cars!

No idea, but probably a regulation requirement in the UK like the fender lights for the turn signals. And yes there is are European modes and North American models. I suspect the motorized mirror retractors are there because of the narrow streets in Europe and Great Britain.
