Great work, you guys... I would do this mod before dropping $500+ on an intake system that is only going to suck more hot engine-bay air in. This is more cost-effective, and better for power.
Hey Greg,
Nice job on the effect and creative intake set up!
You asked at our meet up about my intake. It is a SRT intake with heavy insulation to protect against heat.
According to my research, every 10 degrees reduction in temps increases HP by 1. Given that prior to insulating my intake it was burning hot, it would seem logical that temperature for the intake area has dropped and increased HP slightly.
I also run a "velocity stack", which is designed to improve the flow of air. It is shaped like a horn, is ans supposed to increase flow-velocity. It also sounds nice. The cone filter is also has a huge 5" inlet.
I cannot provide evidence of improvements in HP, but it was a fun project and seems to look nice in the engine bay..
Delete the resanators and replace the stock exaust tips with 2.5 in inlet 5.0in outlet great refined European v8 sport's car sound, perfect sound level and about the same $$ drop in a k&N and your golden ! I did the Black Chrome tips. With other de badging and black accents, including front grill it all ties in nicely 👌
