Default Good Deal? Votes Needed. 2006 White Gold Crystal on Camel, 55k mi, All Maint Done

2006 White Gold Crystal on Camel SC430
51k miles, one owner in CA (lease)
All maintenance records, Lexus of Cerritos Serviced since day one
30k service done too, tires/brakes/battery/engine coils replaced
Power steering fluid flushed/filled
Carfax one owner, perfect
All maint records seen, all books, two keys

Price: $29,500

What does it need? Alignment-dealer to do this as part of the deal. Car pulled a little when you drove it, had to put the wheel at 11:00 for it to drive straight. Tires and wheels-I will put my own 20" aftermarket on there. Platinum Warranty-I will buy at lexus dealer hopefully if they let me. ***I spoke to my dealer and they said they may make an exception on a car like this just barely out of the Platinum Warranty Range***

Exterior: 9.5/10 No visible rock chips, no door dings, no scrapes under the front bumper, very very clean! Paint luster is great. ***Dealer disclosed when they bought the car the front hood had some larger rock chips on it so they sprayed it and blended. There is no overspray anywhere at all! I brought a 15 year car dealer veteran with me and he couldn't find any either.

Interior: 9.5/10 No visible wear on seats-almost like new. Hadn't been detailed recently, but carpet looks new, car smells new.

I drove the car today and saw it in person. It is very very clean. I researched 47 white 2006 SC430's nationally and the average selling price is $40k. High price: $47k. Low price: $31k. I am basically getting a 2006 at a 2005 price or better. Question is...are the miles too high?

I'd buy it if I were in your shoes. White is IMO a way better color than red anyway--camel is a way better color then ecru anyway as well...and with some 20"s it will look siiiiiiiiiiiick...

Thanks...this is a little bit of a leap of faith for me...I have owned about 30 cars in my life and about 27 of them have been red! My only other non-red were two white Rx7's and my current 2009 FX35 and my last 2003 FX35 in Silver.

Definitely going to get my 20" ADR Classic triple chrome mesh wheels staggered set up of course, 285/30/20 in rear and 245/35/20 in the front. Yeah!

Default good dealer

I have some good news for you. My son bought an 05 G35 from this dealer 2 years ago for 5 grand under bluebook. At first I thought it was a misprint, but we showed up the first day of the ad when they opened and a glance from 20 feet and I told the salesman "its sold". 11K miles on it, the performance edition with aftermarket 19s on it. and owned by a female. two years later-he still loves it and he could probably still get what he paid for it. This dealer is solid. If I hadn't bought my 02 just a year ago, id jump on it. Looks alot like my baby, but its an 06-WOW!

Buy it, and drive it like you stole it, because at that price, you did.

it's $29,500. I will put my own 20" ADR Classics Chrome on there with new socks for the shoes...the current RFT's are "cupping". Car needs a realignment which they said they would do. It's not even really detailed, but still is beautiful. Someone drove the hell out of it and spent a lot in service for three years!

I have a call into sewell to see if they would honor the timing of the extended warranty...I want to buy the 3-year platinum 75k warranty (I only put 5k on my last SC in three years) to cover electrical stuff, motor mounts, speakers, etc. It was well worth it the last time I bought one on my 2002.

A couple of you voted for red...feel free to chime in. That is my favorite color but I have exhausted my search for the "perfect" one. Any 2005's that are CPO are way too expensive ($35k-$40k), others are at shady wholesalers too far away for me to put my thumbs on and the others are too big of a project car and at an individual seller. ***I still have an internal tug of war with myself on why the hell I sold my 2002 red/ecru for $24k and now I am looking for another red one, so the only way I can justify to myself is to buy a super low mileage, pristine 2005 OR get an entirely new color 2006+ to make it seem like it is different enough. I would love to get a PB but cannot find a decent priced one at a dealer. I refuse to pay 7% or so to buy from a wholesaler or individual when my bank is giving me 4% for up to 72 months on a used car from a franchised dealer, so that's why I have to stay with a franchised dealer.

CARFAX says it's one owner-the dealer bought it at an auction in Cerritos, CA was a leased car...lease ended and leasing company sold at auction. This is quite common?

Solman-great news that your son bought from John Vance. That makes me feel better. I had a great interaction with David Oliver there. He has two other SC's not as clean but great prices on both too if anyone wants a silver SC 2005 or 2006.

oh no! I may have lost this one too...I have tried to call and e-mail the sales manager I've been dealing with since Thursday and haven't been able to get in touch with him! I have lost out on the last couple for $1500-$2,000 which is not a HUGE deal in the scheme of things, but that is the risk you take in widdling down dealers to the bone and not pulling the trigger at that moment! I like to take my time and marinate the deal!

Will keep you all posted. FYI the guy with the 2005 PB Edition for $27k with 29k miles black on red was real quirky to deal with---he wanted me to wire money to Yahoo Finance and then he would ship the car to me and he was not easy to get a hold of for days, I figured this was a sign NOT to do business with them. I've been there and done that before. I still would love to get my hands on a Black PB Edition with low miles 05.

Default update....

spoke to the dealer in OK today and they still have the car! Good news is that it's slow paced OK and they are just "getting around" to having the car aligned and they will call me when it is done to ensure it was the alignment that is needed. The car pulled pretty bad to the right when we drove and the salesman said it was because the RFT's were almost out, but after I looked at them, they at least look like they have 40-50% left, so I doubt that is the problem. The car has been driven a lot in three years, so it's not from dead spots or cupping probably.

Let's see what they come up with...I hope the alignment fixes the pull and we will have some ACTION finally!

In the meantime, I have found a 2005 PB Edition Black with Pimento Red interior. 36k miles, $31k, but I am seeing if they would take $30k for it. I can't get over how cool these cars look. It is a CPO in California, one owner, 100% no issues, PERFECT car, all 30k service done. Tires are great, brakes are great, but I will take the wheels off anyway, so it doesn't matter. More to come....this is my backup.
