Second "Lexus battery" dead on an 2004
We're talking about the outlet "inside" the center console, right? Not the cigarette lighter.
Interesting. Although I haven't done it since posting that, I know I've charged my cell phone while the engine is off. Also, the one and only time I lost battery power while my car sat for a few days, I had my iPod charging from that outlet. Could there be a residual storage of power there? Or did Lexus make a change by '06?

It's probably fine, but the Interstate is the best non-optima battery out there. The MTP-91 is the most powerful one that fits, the MTP-H6 I think is the recommended battery for our cars. Firestones sells/installs for arount $150.
Well that's interesting. My previous Diehard was their international model 33348. Here is the link: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_02833348000P
When I replaced it I went with the Interstate MTP-H6...not as powerful with Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) as the MTP-91 but its been working fine for the last four months. But I live is San Diego and it was in the low 70's today.

On Sunday, tried the Sears Diehard Platinum Size 34 on my 2002 sc430.
The battery did fit the tray, however since + terminal is positioned rear-right, my cables came up about 1" short. Not sure if other cars will have same issue or have more slack to reach. Will try another brand later this week.

Replaced with Interstate MTPH6 at ETD Discount Tire Center in Clifton NJ.
Specs says 640 Cold Cranking Amps which should be fine and good as OEM.
Does not carry upgrade model which need to be special ordered.
Only took 20 mins and cost $187 installed.
