2002 SC w/100K...
It is red with the black interior. I don't know too much on what options were available, but it does have navigation. Did it come with the Mark L sound system, or was it an option? Also, what were the options for that year, if any?
They are asking $15,500, it looks like it is in excellent shape. The miles seem high, should I be concerned about anything like the seels on the top, etc.? It's available at a Cadillac, Hummer dealer.
Let me know what you think? One last question, if the tires have been changed and they are not run-flats, how is road noise with the top up and top down? What would be a good comparison?

There were no options. The miles shouldn't be a problem as long as it was taken care of with regular service. Lexus will have the service record on file. Would be worth checking. Wouldn't be a bad idea to take it in anyway and have them do a complete inspection. You can get a third party extended warranty for peace of mind. Might cost another $1500, but it's worth it in case anything goes wrong. Non runflats are fine. Most people ditch the runflats anyway. Regular tires give you a smoother, quieter ride. But keep in mind the car doesn't come with a spare. You'll have to buy one if the previous owner didn't already. Road noise isn't a problem. Almost none with the top up. What you would expect with the top down.
tftimm,
You will want to check and see if the timing belt was changed. I think Lexus recommends 100K or 6 years. The timing belt is probably $1000 or so to have changed at the dealer. I'm sure they'll find two or three other things to ding you on as well.
I own a 2002 SC that came with new Pirelli PZero Nero tires on it. They are super sticky and handle awesome but are quite noisy and need to be rotated every 3000 miles to keep the noise in check. I will change them to Michelin Pilots when they wear out in 6 months or so.
I have changed all of my fluids. Brakes, antifreeze, tranny, power steering etc. The car only has 23K miles on it but is 6 years old.
I'd also check to see if the tranny has been serviced. At 100K I would want the fluid changed. Even if not worn out the fluid could have been in the tranny for 6 years building up acids.
I love putzing around on this car and then driving the hell out of it. It's an absolute joy to own and drive!
Good Luck!
