On my unit the install instructions called for removing the water proof gasket on the female conenctor that you unplug from the car { the reason they said was so that the new male connector they supplied in there harness would seat all the way into the oem connector. ** I followed what they told me to do and I have no problem. My unit will beep when I turn it on or use any of the mode buttons up or down so I think its normal.
When the car first starts up controller is in the off position when I turn it on i get the beep then. When you first start up the car I get a sequential green bar of LED flashing around the digits then when its done the screen reads off . I dont get the beep untill I turn the controller on.

When i put the car in reverse I just turn the controller off. I mostly drive in sp-1 mode so I think in time i will get really used to how that feels and reverse should not cause me a problem .

When I bought my car in 2005 I knew it was going to be my last car because I really loved it. With this feeling in mind I have been over the last 4 years searching ebay and craigs list and have been able to buy a rather large assortment of replacement interior parts. Since the red interior [ mine called pimento red ] was only available in the 2005 pebble beach and once before in the 2002 silver belle [ called candy cane red ] I now have both front door complete with seat switches window swiches and brains as well as the wood insert panels [ not black bird expresso ] the wood is a very rich reddish maple
i have the red consol i have the front dash panels as well as the rear seat side panels. I am ready for any interior leather color or wear problem. I also was able to get the threshold door sills with the lit up LEXUS LOGO . Its in blue neon lights from teh silver belle but I could live with that since the panel itself is the correct red I mostly have purchased these parts very very cheap with the exception of the consol so I can afford to sit with them . Eventually if I dont use them I can sell them.
