Default Lost power

Went to start my car and the battery was very weak after a few moments did manage to start the car, but theres no power in the fwd gears. Reverse gear still works fine, no warning lights on dash.

Theres a little more power in the lower gears ie 1,2 etc but only enough to creep the car back into the garage after I reversed out.

Could it be due to the weak battery?

humm I do not think this problem has anything to do with your battery, actually I have never heard of any such problem.

Does the car turn on by it self now? (without needing a jump)

Have you tried to let it sit with the battery disconnected for a while then attach everything and see if u can replicate the problem?

Did you install anything or do anything different?

I left the car for about 30 mins and then restarted it everything was fine again

When I last used the car two days ago the battery was very poor starting. Ive ordered up a new battery which I was going to do before the winter anyway.

Im hoping it was just caused by repeatedly trying to crank the car to start it.

or it could have been the alternator was strained trying to recharge the battery, and it only gave minimal power to the engine..

I don’t even know if that is possible but its the first thing that came to mind.

Hopefully it doesn’t come back!

Mysterious loss of power?

Obviously, a UFO proximity problem.
Did you consult the X-Files website?

It does sound like it went into some kind of safety mode, caused by what Tommy surmised - a struggling alternator. Check for UFO's though, just in case.

My guess would be an onboard computer error or proper computer reaction to a faulty sensor of some kind.
