For a used car, is end of the month still the best time to buy?

What is end of the month? The last Sunday, weekend or???

doesn't make much difference. it's a buyer's market right now either way. take your time and you'll get the car you want at the price you want.

In order for the salesman, or the dealership, to get credit during the month for a sale, it has to be delivered to the customer by the last calendar day of the month.

In other words, if you make the deal on Saturday, the 30th and Sunday is the 31st, then Monday is the 1st and you go to the bank, get the money and bring it to the dealership after work on the 1st, you missed it. The car had to be delivered on Saturday and you blew it.

I beg to differ. While the market may be better or worse at different times; at a dealership, the end of the month is always the time that they will give the best deals. Salesmen are paid based on different levels of sales. If your sale happens to throw him into a higher plateau, then he's more than willing to deal harder.
