Help with spoiler?
Hi, just got a carbon fiber spoiler and was wondering if anyone has put one on their SC430? The trunk of our cars is curved...and the mounts on my spoiler is flat...so was wondering if anyone has/had any ideas of solving this problem. I don't want to scratch or dent my trunk any more than necessary to put this spoiler on. BTW, it's not the factory spoiler (it's a carbon fiber universal one).
Thanks in advance for any help.

...my goal is to eventually get my car to look something like the Tom's SC430.
I plan on piecing it together (as more parts become available). Yeah, I know it might look ricey to some (or most) but every time I look at the rear, I think there's something missing.
BTW, all widebody kits are all custom atm, right?

Yes, widebody kits are custom.
There are other options for the rear spoiler like the Toms which is slightly larger as well as a few others listed here so that you do not have to mount that thing to the your SC.
If you do get it mounted, please share the pics.

since the trunk is curved you have to make a custom shim, if you were to DIY I would get some tin foil and place it on the trunk in the spot where the spoiler should mount then build a rectangle around the mount with something like cardboard. Cut the cardboard so it lines up flush with the trunk. then wrap the cardboard in tin foil and tape it down to the tin foil on your trunk and pour a little bit of fiberglass in there. Keeping in mind you want this as thin as possible but flat so the mount can attach. (make sure your parked on a level surface)
that way when it dries you got a custom shim. sand it down. maybe a little bondo. paint it black and your set. I might not like the wing but thats what I would do. good luck

I'm a DIYer so I'll start on that custom shim. Of course, once everything is set to go, I'll temporarily mount the spoiler(actually, just kind of suspend it on strings), just to get a feel of what it will look like. I'll post the pics up so everyone can mock me
before I'll put it on for real.
Hehe, I know I'm not going to win any popularity points for this but I got to stay true to what I envisioned my SC is going to be
(hopefully I won't get too much flak for putting in Sparco seats too
)

also I had a typo in my old post I fixed it with this " Keeping in mind you want this as thin as possible but flat so the mount can attach. (make sure your parked on a level surface)"
Hear Hear! At the end of the day, it's YOUR car. Do what makes you happy! I'm geek-a-fying the crap out of my SC430 but, it's what I like so, so what?
And, as for the wing, I'm curious to see how it looks on the car. I've always thought the back end of the car needed "something". The factory spoiler is so small as to be almost unnoticeable so, I'm looking forward to pics of yours!

personally, i'd cringe if i saw this on an sc. but if you're going to do it, i'd suggest going all the way with the wide body kit. after market bumpers. fast and furious custom paint job. anything and everything to make it look less like an sc
