My 2002 SC 430 is about to expire its extended warranty in June.

I can according to my dealer get almost the full amount back since the SC is so reliable I have not had to use it.............now the question is- DO I still want to take another 3 year warrany out when this expires. The SC has 30,000 miles on it now and in three year might have another 15-20,000 on top of the 30K.

The dealer said the warranty would run about 2 grand , so I would spend 1K when I get the refunded portion back.

Does Lexus have their own factory warranty program or is this another 3rd party package like the last extended one.

Anyone on the forum done the extended , whats everyones feeling about doing the second extended one ?

I am 50/50 on this with 2 months to go before expriration .

FALCON 1, I would like some more information on how you're getting a refund back on your extended warranty? I have the Lexus Platinum Extended Warranty and it ends in December 2008 on my '02 SC 430 and would love to get a refund since I haven't had to use the warranty much. I'd also like to get another extended warranty if possible.

 

Howard- Most likely you got yours at Nalley Lexus.

I talked to the Sales Mgr. in Alpharetta named Chris Dastou who was my sales guy at the time in 02. He said a week before the warranty is up to come in and they would file papers to get the refund. I am pretty certain that at least 95% of it can be refunded less processing fees et al . Since both you and I have had such good luck with our SC 430's you can either take it and run or extend once again.............depending on your milage.

Once I see him in June I will advise the course for sure. If you want to find out before then just call the Finance/Warranty guy at either Lexus location and inquire specifically. December is a long way off for you so I hope yours keeps it good health.
