did you use Pearlpowers instructions for the install?

I had problems with my navtool until I soldered the wires. The wires are so thin that the crimp / insulation displacement fasteners weren't working.

I also had to solder the wire for the reverse switch. And, had a really hard time with the wires for the input-select switch...which sounds like where your issue is. I'm pretty sure that "open" is the secondary input and "closed" puts you back to factory Nav so, if you've got a loose connection with those wires, you wouldn't be able to get back to factory Nav.

Ok I Soldered All Wires To Tell You The Truth And It Worked Perfect, But Once I Was Fishing Out The Switch From The Trunk Through To The Car It Just Died. The Nav Stays On Nav Whether I Flip The Switch Or Not. Only Thing That Works Is The Backup Camera.
