Default Would you take your SC cross country?

Just wondering if any of you would take your SC cross country? I plan on going from Massachusetts to Seattle and wondering how the SC would be on such a long trip. Only me and the GF though.

I've driven 10 hours in it no problem (w/ luggage so I couldn't use the roof...no issues). Car was hella dirty though which sucked.

If you have runflats, you will not have any teeth by the time you get to Seattle.

Not a car for snow driving. I was teetering down the mountains in Colorado at 60 due to icy roads. I was scared for my baby!

Then in Utah I got popped for doing 113, which seems like 80 in this car. GF almost asked cop whether he saw us doing 140 a few minutes earlier. "Sweetie, do you still love me?"

I say you do it.

I'm driving my car from Los Angeles to Minneapolis (2000 mile journey) this weekend. Wish me luck!

I just bought the car and am taking delivery of it tomorrow (Friday) too. So this will be a real bonding experience.

Good luck on that trip naked! I do have the runflats but think they are safer on such a long road trip? The bad thing is if a runflat shreds I could be stuck in the middle of nowhere with no spare!!

Can the non-runflat model spare fit in the trunk? Maybe it will be a good backup.

I think both my GF's and I can fit our luggage in the back seat so trunk space isnt that big an issue. I know the SC was meant for long distances and luxury like a 2 door luxury touring,(well thats what it feels like) but I havent heard of many people taking it cross country. Any tips or suggestions for me?

Thanks

Forget about the spare. There is a kit for standard tires; it provides a spare tire and nice carpet cover to match the trunk, bolts to rear wall of trunk, reduces dramtically the space at the back of the trunk.

Get AAA coverage! They will tow you to a dealer to get a runflat fixed, no dirty hands, no getting nailed by a drunk while changing a tire. The membership fee is quite cheap and pays for itself with just one tow.

Whatever you do, under no circumstances should you attempt to make whoopie in the car unless you are both professional gymnasts! Yes, the trip is long, but contain the urge until you have settled down somewhere more roomy.
