7 years since it's debut and still going strong....Do you still LOVE your SC430?

I ordered my 2002 SC430 in the spring of 2001 before I ever saw one in person and obviously before I ever drove one. When I picked it up, I didn't change my mind. I knew it wasn't a sports car, so I never expected it to act like one (been there, done that). The only change I made to the car was to have sturdier sway bars installed - everything else is stock. I put the car away every winter and because I don't have to drive to work every day, the mileage is pretty low - 15,000.
Yes, I still love the car, love the way it looks, and can't wait to get it out of storage. I plan to keep this car until either it dies or I do.
Oh yeah ... I'm finally getting really serious about getting rid of that butt-ugly rear spoiler.

LOL. Lee, are you sure you are not my id. I have been searching for a 996tt also but I have also been back and forth with something red from Italy but the cost to maintain it is astronomical. I think the 996tt will compliment the SC well in the garage don't you think?

Are there any more love out there for the UZZ40?
For you first time buyers of this terrific car, if you feel the love, then let us know how you feel.
And for the veteran current or past owners, pls express your love too, if you still have it.
I know there's alot of biased and player-hating mothers out there, public and critics, that can write any type of descriptive flaw about this car in any shape, color and form.
I just want to hear the LOVE that others like yourselves have admired and decided to take the plunge.
thanks...teeman3
c'mon and speak up.

I may keep this thing for life til it dies, is that enough ?
. . . unless the next SC is so much better in everything but too expensive so that I have to trade it to afford it

My wife totally love's the SC. As I think it's one of those rare gem's. A car that looks so different and I applaud Lexus for taking a big risk on it. I think the car is very distinct and love that fact.
We are waiting on the new one to be released and then will make up my mind on our next car purchase (to replace the BMW Z3)

I don't have one but clearly Lexus has a classic here. It has aged very, very well in 7 years. The interior is still one of the finest offered PERIOD. The shape still looks fresh, love it or hate it. The engine still holds its own.
For those that don't know, Lexus really wanted the 1st gen SC to be a convertible and had prototypes but they just were not satisfied with the integrity of the car. The 2nd gen SC was designed from the get go to be a convert.
I remember seeing it in the Brian McKnight video "love of my life" when it first came out.
One last thing, it has seriously maintained its value!

I don't have one but as a SC300 owner, I have strong feelings/opinions about the 430. I won't share my negatives since they've been said several times before....plus the thread starter only wants love.
When modded, it's very sweet and stylish car. When modded, it has an almost star quality about it. When modded, it can sit next to any of the worlds' finest autos and not blink. The interior is befitting a car costing thousands more. It is sweet, very sweet....when modded.

The SC is my wife's dream car. I personally prefer cars with a bias toward a sports car feel rather than luxury / tourer. I finally surprised her with one, which was a HOME RUN guys. I may not have to get her anything again - ever.
But I have to tell you, now that we've had it a bit, it's really grown on me. The quality on this thing is so impressive. I get a big grin on my face just by opening and closing the doors. Very Impressive! Every thing you touch just reeks of quality - the paint, materials and design.
I invent reasons to borrow it now - trips to the cleaners, washing it and doing the 120mph blow dry...
