Default Replacing Tires

If I decide to replace the run-flats with regular tires, do I have to do anything else other than purchasing the new tires? Any suggested size and type?

Thanks.

Default tire replacement

It is my understanding that the stock 245 40 18 must be the same (inless you change your wheel to a 19" or 20").

I plan on going with PZero Rosso myself - 245 40 18 at all 4 corners.

I ordered a spare donut and don't plan on doing any changes other than installing the spare in the trunk and putting on the new tires when these wear out.

You can definately go with a staggered 18" (8.5f / 9.5r) setup from what I was told.. I didn't go that route because I wanted to reuse the runflats and honestly I don't find the ride as bad as some have noted previously..

Hope that helps!

Default Replacing Run-flats

I plan to replace my run-flats when they "run-out"...ride just too harsh for me. Dealer quoted $1007, incl. tax for "Spare Tire Conversion Kit...Thats just for the "Kit"....add Michelin tires, $369 x 4=$1476. Grand total, less Lexus "Goodwill" discount, including mounting and balancing= $1877. Would like to hear from others.

I'd be sure to get a second opinion from "THE TIRE RACK". You can scope out what you like at their Web Site, and then call in and talk to a Sales Tech. They have always seemed to be very pleasant, informed, helpful, and very competitively priced. At least you would know how much a relationship with your Selling / Servicing Dealer is worth to go with them.

Good Hunting!

Is it a good idea just replace the run-flats with regular tires and put a can of tire sealent in the trunk? Just like SLK.

BTW, I recommend Yokohama AVS dB
