Yes, I have it on the side, I like to see my drive way when backing out from the "car's master bedroom" and my driver site mirror works just fine. The dealler ran the test and said it is $400 for the electric motor inside the mirror plus labor. I am not ready to pay this kind of money for electric motor, you can buy a computer for that.

>if you're keeping your mileage down just to keep your car pristine, it seems to me that you're just not attuned to the greatest pleasure of owning a well-engineered vehicle.<

Agreed. I made a non-specific response to a non-specific comment.
Eighty percent of the time I drive my car when I have someplace to go; the other 20% of the time I drive it because I like to drive it. When I do have someplace to go, I usually take the long way.

My car has so few miles because I no longer need to drive to work every day and I put it away every winter, i.e., from about Thanksgiving until Easter. During that time my sole means of transportation was my Outback which will be replaced by a Flint/Black RX350 by month's end.

I'm going to be a one-person, two-Lexus family.

Mine doesn't work right, it will go down but not back up. I have the CPO warranty and will let Lexus spend the $$$ to fix it.

Default mileage - anyone beat 94K ?

well, have a 02 sc430 as a daily driver...have 94K on it...
so far, front pads changed once at 80K and then oil change every 4-5K with mobil1...
trunk struts are bad, some light bulbs out and can't change HID bulbs myself/too much hassle....routinely hit 115mph on short bursts and the car is solid. best car i've owned so far... wandering about timing belt...

thinking of 997 turbo but waiting to see what the LF-A and Skyline GTR may be like...

Impressive. I would do the timing belt and while they are in there have them do the water pump. My experience is with LC/LX 4.7 liter V8's, also an interference engine so if the belt breaks it takes out the upper valve train. Very expensive . Owners of LC/LX's have gone 180K before changing thier timing belts and there is no record on www.ih8mud.com where a member had one break. But I would not want to take a chance. Your betting the cost of around $1000 to many times more then that if it breaks. When you have it changed please post what kind of shape it was in when you changed it.

Default belt pump etc...

ha ha.
well, i'm thinking of doing it at LMS/steve...he's probably 1/2 the price....
it's just piece of mind but i'm sure i can go 120K or more...
i'll probably just do the 90K...get some new 6000K xenon bulbs put in, do the usual fluids...

kinna at a mileage where i can't get much for this car; but there is not a single car that can replace this at the price range... isn't there some psychological thing with buyers on cars over 100K miles? including me... no matter how perfect my car is.... oh well, seller's remorse... if i need to...

how are aston martins? the vantage V8 is 'reasonably' price... are they reliable? i had good service with a jag XJR... are astons as reliable?
