Silver SC430, owned since 3/19/01 which now has 11,250 miles. No complaints except the loud, noisy and harsh run flat tires. The harshness doesn't bother me as much as the loudness.

I can hardly stand all the noise when the top is up. Other than that, I like the car. I will be purchasing regular tires, and a flat kit when I replace these lousy tires.

Ok just about a month in (3,454 kms) and my Silver dream machine has no issues with rattles/squeeks and although the run flats aren't as nice a ride as the 17" rims on the GS they aren't as harsh as the run flats on the Corvette either.. Buddy down the street with an 'O1 Vette traded cars one day and followed each other on the highway and I found the Vette not as nice as the Lexus but the power and sound from the Chevy V8 is to die for.. It'll be interesting if anyone comes out with a cat-back exhaust for the SC but then again not sure how many Lexus owners would want a Vette sounding SC430..

1NICESC430,

I never noticed the production date till you guys said where to look and it seems our cars were built exactly 2 months apart (Aug 1) so it seems by my skills of deduction that silver cars are built during the beginning of the production month..

I think the "01" in 08/01 stands for the year, rather than the day it was produced.

Rod ...

You're correct. A Lexus customer relations rep (1-800-255-3987 prompt #4) said that the 01 refers to the year.

He, thinking I was some kind of moron, told me that they don't build a car in just one day. I suggested that it could have been a beginning or end date.
