Guys, I appreciate the fact that you can disconnect the TPM sensor box on an SC, but can you do so on a mk3 GS300? Pleasepleaseplease let me know where it is located, and if it is possible to disable the system...
Thanks a lot in advance!!

Just joined and already have found answers to two problems. I now am member of 5 car forums and usually find answers to questions not covered in the Hayes or Chilton books. Thank you everyone involved for your kind and patient help.

Hello out there in SC430Land,

I just disconnected my TPMS today. I used these instructions and found it to be very easy to do. Just takes a little 'muscle.'

I tend to riduously cautious when removing parts on any of my cars; but this went quite well.

I have 'new' wheels on the way and want to remove the sending units when I put the wheels on.

BTW, the 3rd photo in the instructions seems to be for a right-hand drive car. Anyone else notice this?

This is a great site; I am having fun with it.

Hello out there in SC430Land again,

I just wanted to mention that I did not have to remove my shift selector handle. I put it into 2L and that allowed sufficient room to pull the cover back so that I could get to the two connectors and disconnect them.

Default Going w/o a spare tire

Hello out there again,

I have been doing some checking into options if I go without a spare tire.

There are kits that include the sealant & a compressor at:

www.slime.com

And another option is the kit for a '04 BMW Z-4 which includes a can of sealant and a very compact air compressor. Your local BMW dealer will have this kit for ~$152 and the part # is: 71 10 0 413 439

This is just to provide some of you some information if going w/o a spare tire is something that you might consider.

I have a question dealing with the tpms also....my light on my dash is on,but not blinking.I thought that I may have an issue with a sensor, but the other day,I had a tire go flat on me and the warning system came on.So do I possibly have an issue with one of the sensors or a faulty light ???...I'm going to put wheels on in the next month or so and wanted to have issue looked into or fixed when I replace wheels....thanx in advance ed

I was reading this post, And I was gathering all inputs on SC430, and as I was about to purchase a 04 SC, these dreaded lights were on the cluster blinking, apart from this issue is there any other issue to be looked at. Let me know some inputs before i settle one. I have a TSB on the TPMS issue for few models of the Lexus, and SC is on the list, hope this helps to all who wish to continue to have the TPMS. cheers

Hi Folks,

Just wanted to mention that I did buy a BMW Mobility Kit for my '02. I will take the chance & go without a spare tire. Yes, I know all of the arguments against this but I consider everything in life a risk.

The BMW kit is very complete: A can of sealer, an air compressor, a tire guage, a tool to remove the valve stem seal, a new valve stem seal & a pair of gloves. BMW used these kits on ~ five different models of their cars, that gives me some additional confidence in my decision.

If any of you might want to go this route you can find them here:

PS) Just got new plates for my car: LAFFTR

I tried disconnecting the two plugs on my 2007 SC430 but the tire censor light won't turn off. This method worked on my 2002 SC430 but not on the newer model. Any ideas?

Default Quiet the noise!

My wife wanted to take our SC430 out yesterday....a nice sunny day with the wind in her hair. She called back within a few minutes and wanted to know what that flippin' chime was (that kept going off every 2 and a half minutes)... it was driving her absolutely crazy and far worse than the seat belt warning in her daily-driver/company car (09 Camary). We quickly figured out that it was the TPS system... off to the Club Lexus Forums I go and I find these instructions. What a life-saver! It actually took longer to read than to accomplish the task (five minutes total including the read)

THANKS GUYS!!!!

If you have small hands like I do, you don't even need to screw off the shifter.

Edit: The 3rd photo is from a JDM soarer, but you get the idea.

I would not recommend dissabling a tpms system on a car that has runflat tires & no spare, the down time & flat bed may cost more in the end

A lurker and potential SC430 owner. The 02's came without the spare? Just the run flats?
