Default 10mm spacers

I am considering the wheels found in the link below. The offset however is 35mm compared to 45mm on the stock Lexus wheels. For those of you who use 10mm wheel spacers, did you install longer wheel studs? Is it better to avoid wheel spacers all together?

why would you want spacer if the new wheel already has 35mm offset? if you add that 10mm spacer then your new offset is 25mm not 45mm.

I debated doing the 40 front, but ended up with 35 all around. It's sooo much better than the 25/30 I had before.

I want to see pics of your setup!
Here we go.

Front tire - 245/40/19

Rear tire 285/35/19

How the car sits with the new tires.

I’m new to this (obviously), so I’m looking at it backwards. So now I’m wondering how a 10mm wider stance (each side) will impact the already excellent handling.

Are you referring to the OEM wheels? If you keep OEM wheels, you need 20mm spacers for the front and 25-30mm spacers for the rear, then your wheels/tires will look flush with the car.
If you buying new wheels, go with custom offset of 25 front and 15-20 rear so you don't have to deal with wheel spacers. It's also depend on the wheel size that you are getting as well, i.e. stagger setup, smaller wheel in front, larger wheel in the back.
so for example, OEM wheel is 8in wide, and you get 10in wide for the rear, then your offset should be around 35-40mm (to be safe). If you look at the diagram from Talwang, it will tell you what wheel size would fit the SC430.

Default Impact of handling by going to 35mm offset verses factory

Thanks for above information. My goal was to simply change out the rims - even keeping stock tires. The rims I’m interested in (18x8) have 35mm offset (verses 45mm offset with stock rims). I now understand the 35mm offset will result in the wheels having 10mm + 10mm wider stance. I consider the handling characteristics of the stock SC430 to be excellent. Will this change in stance have any negative impact on handling?
Thanks

It should handle better since you will have wider stand. The only thing negative will be camber but you only have 10mm extra so it's minimal vs stock.

Default GS350/460 rims fit the SC430?

Does anyone know if the GS350/460 rims fit our SC430? They have the same specs (including the 45mm offset).
Thanks in advance.

What offset are those? Looks good.

if you had gone 245/40/19 & 285/35/19, do you think they would have rubbed?

If you look at my pictures a few post above this I have 245/40/19 and 285/35/19 and they are not rubbing whatsoever.

I really like your setup too, it was your post that makes me think 245/40/19 & 285/35/19 is probably the way to go. Looks great and probably rides similar to stock. Might even scrape my front bumper a little less on steep angles since the wheels sit a little taller than oem. (I have a 30mm drop)

Are you lowered at all? What size are your rims 19x9 & 19x10 as well? What offsets?

Yes, ride like stock. The side wall for the front is identical to stock and the rear is 2mm less than stock. Your are corrrect, the car will be 1/2in taller due to the 19in wheel and same size walls.
No lowering, but 30mm lower from your RCA should make the car looks even better. I have more room than 30mm drop.
Front wheel is 19x8.5 w/ +35 Offset and the Rear wheel is 19x9.5 w/ +40 Offset

The fronts are +15mm, rear are +20mm. 19x9 F & 19x10 rear.

Possibly, so I wanted to have a slight rounded edge on the tire shape, so I went with the 275. The previous tires were 295/15, with the Toyo T1R, so a very rounded profile tire.

So, I am lead to believe - I could be wrong - that 17" wheels will fit the '02 nicely. This would give me a lighter combo, more sidewall (about an inch), and an overall smoother ride. It would also help avoid pothole damage. I will never go to a Big Brake Kit, although I may go to Stop Tech slotted Street/Sport kit using standard calipers when these bunnies wear down. I don't race the car nor will I ever.

Is anyone else using 17" wheels and tires for winter, summer, or all-season use? Commentary?
I'm considering this same strategy... going to 17" Enkei RPF1's to get 1/2" more sidewall height to ensure a more comfortable ride and protect the wheel from potholes and curb rash (as careful as I am, we all make mistakes). My fitment tool says a 17" wheel with an 8" width and 45mm offset, would take a 245/45 tire, getting me close to the stock diameter. The other option I'm considering is the same wheel in an 18" size, but it only comes with a 35mm offset (not an issue). With this setup, and a stock tire, the look would be better, but so would my prospect for wheel damage. An opinions from the masses?
