No, not yet.
Maybe wait for another couple of years when the used uzz40s are more affordable to the youngsters.

Something like OPEN INTERFACE TOM'S SC430 will be nice.

Hi all, I am new to the forum. I am from the United Kingdom. I have just bought a SC430 (2004) model. Three things that fascinate me when I read the posts on the forum.

1. You guys are all so enthusiastic!!
2. There are so many kits available in the USA!!
3. Every thing to do with cars seem so cheap compared to prices in the U.K!

I bought my 2004 SC430 for £27000 ($54000 USD). ( A brand new one costs about £55000 (thats a whopping $110,000 USD!!!)

I am looking to buy a kit for my car. There is not much choice in the UK so I am thinking about importing a kit from the US.

Since you guys are all experts... I was hoping to get some help. A few questions...

1. Are all the kits made from fibreglass?? I was hoping to get one in urethane.

2. Does the Wald Kit include front , sides and rear skirts?

3. Does it come with fitting kit?? instructions?

4. What would I expect to pay (in USD) for a Wald kit??

5. from this post , I see there are many kits available, which is the best in terms of quailty? and fitment accuracy?? I don't want to buy a cheap kit..that does does fit correctly or require alot of time to make fit.

Thanks for your times guys...

Keep up the good work

Michael

Mr. UK,
I will share my semi-experience of this fabulous car and help answer yo questions: (I'm sure others especially Mr. Talwang w/ chime in and provide a better clarification as well).

1. Are all the kits made from fibreglass?? I was hoping to get one in urethane.
No, not all kits are made from Fiberglass. They range from Fiberglass to poly-urethane compounds. Most are poly-urethane which is a little less stressful in terms of bumping and scraping. Fiberglass compound may easily crack.

2. Does the Wald Kit include front , sides and rear skirts?
Yes, the WALD Executive Line kit will include front, 2 sides and rear skirt attachments.

3. Does it come with fitting kit?? instructions?
Yes, the WALD kit will include fitting instructions step by step.

4. What would I expect to pay (in USD) for a Wald kit??
I'll PM you this to preserve the integrity of other vendors and interested parties that post here.

5. from this post , I see there are many kits available, which is the best in terms of quailty? and fitment accuracy?? I don't want to buy a cheap kit..that does does fit correctly or require alot of time to make fit.
For me, the full WALD kit is tight fitting, clean and has a nice fuller lower body stance. However, the downfall is that the WALD front lip tends to scrape more easily compared to that of other brand front lip attachments such as Auto Couture, LX-mode, Exclusive, Blitz and so on.
If you do a search, you can find the different aftermarket bodykit fitments and pics to fit your personal tastes and needs. I believe that there are no cheap kits for the SC430. After all, this is a high-caliber car and anything of lesser quality and materials is a waste of engery and time. So you don't have to worry about that aspect.

good luck. teeman3

Thanks Teeman3,

So is the Wald kit made of polyurethane?? Didi you fit it yourself?? Was there much modification to the kit needed before fitment??

Thanks again

Only that front lip from Jun Corp. is urethane, the rest of them are either fibergalss or FRP.

Blitz also has an option for carbon fiber front lip and Junction Produce has body kits for sc430s in Frp, carbon fiber and Kevlar fiber.

I think I may sound stupid here, but what is the difference between Fibreglass and FRP? What is Kevlar Fibre??

The reason I am still holding Google shares.

Frp stands for Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic.
Kevlar, also known as Twaron and poly-paraphenylene terephthalamide, is a synthetic fibre that is five times stronger than steel.

That is why JP charges US$3,200.00 for the Kevlar lip kit.

frp is a bit more flexible than pure fiberglass so it's "better" in a sense that if you "hit", you don't break right the way

Another front lip kit for 06+ SC430.

Lexon Exclusive

JobDesign ... I think JD kits look better in black.

I was wondering how the JD kit would look in white. Not all that great, I think. The front cutouts? Maybe molding in the Wald front and rears is the way to go (Teeman suggestion). You would still have the flexibility, in case of impact, of the factory bumpers.

Looks like the JD kit car has parking sensors. Where do we get those??
