Wald Kit
What the heck? I thought the Wald Kit was suppossed to be the best? Ive never seen one in person but they look the best in photos. I plan to get a kit for my indigo blue SC. I do NOT have a white SC! Please let me know seriosly what's up with the Wald Kit. I'm too broke to put all my cash into something that might suck. I will be rolling it only in San Diego so no worries.
1. Do you scrape much with it (My car is already lowered with H&R springs)?
2. How much did you pay to get it painted/installed?
3. Do you love the new look or regret investing the money?
Thanks, Mike

BUT, rominl was not kidding about scraping. His wife has a hard time with it being lowered on 18s. They actually raised the car (not back to stock) on the Tein CS just to get more clearance.
Thanks Neo (THE ONE),
I figured those were jokes but some of them sounded serious about not liking their kits. My BLUE ride is on 20's so I hope I wont scrape much if I get the kit. I dont have to worry about keeping my ride original cuz Im in San Diego where most cars have stock rims and arent lowered, no kits here at all... and I have Brabus rims which are suppossed to be on MBZ's. I cant wait to complete my ride!!! I need to get the wald kit, have it painted and installed, and get spacers for my wheels but its hard to get things done here in SD.

WHAT IS THE BEST KIT FOR THE SC430? I want one that adds to the front, sides, back and rear to make the car seem wider and tuff looking. Seems like Wald is #1 to me. Any comments please?
The extra height from the 20s will help but I think you will still need to be careful. As for best, everyone will have a different POV but I don't think you can go wrong with the Wald. It is very complementary to the SC430.
Good luck on your search.

My apology to you. Neo is right. We are just playing with you. Personally, Wald is my number 1 pick and I love it. Please see my respond below:

YES -- I have Tein CS on a considerablely high setting. But still the front lip scrape a lot. Of course, my wife drives the SC most of the time, so go figure. (P.S. she already cracked the side skirt one week after it was painted and installed... hahahaha...)
2. How much did you pay to get it painted/installed?
Expect to pay about 1200 - 1400 for a good paint and installation job.
3. Do you love the new look or regret investing the money?
See above
Thank goodness you don't have a white SC.

hahah guess we push it a bit too far, sorry about that
let's get real, the wald kits are awesome. i love it a lot. when we were shopping for the sc430, we already knew this is the kit to get, no question asked. to me this kits just win over the others by that much
and about scraping, yes it's NO joke. gsxotic already posted his review. he's on 19s. i am on 18s stock but overall height are the same. my car was lowered more than his, and it was NOT funny. let me tell you we are USED to driving lowered cars already, our gs4 and is3 are both pretty low. but we never crapped. but holy cow did we scrap a lot on the sc430. it's VERY low. i am not 100% sure, but i think the kits inself already lowers the car by like 2 inches or so, it's LOW.... so prepare to learn some extreme driving skills. we always have to go at HUGE angle up and down driveways...
about the cost, in socal, yes, 1200 or so is a good price.
and to talwang, so you are the other one with the tom's roof spoiler huh, nice
i wonder if anyone else here has the tom's roof spoiler other than the two of us

Im not oppossed to having my car very low but it is an inconvenience. I once ripped the back bumper (Reiger Body Kit) of my BMW 330i going through a dip while it was raining, the rain filled the dip so it looked like there was no dip. I drove a block or two only to look in my rear view mirror and see that my bumper was lying in the intersection causing a traffic jam. I had to run in the rain and carry the bumper a few blocks, but it was undamaged! So, I'm a little worried about getting a Wald Kit- I really want one though to make my SC430 look tougher. I have so much gorund clearance right now even with it lowered and it is nice not having to worry about scraping for the time being. Oh well, I guess I have more thinking to do before I go for it. I would love to find a used Wald Kit, but that would be dificult. I wonder where I could see one in person? I'm in Diego. I'm lovin your guys' help, maybe I wont waste so much $ this time around like I did on my beamer. -Thanks, Mike.
To KevsSC:
The Tom's roof spoiler fits perfectly on SC430; however it is quite huge, I took another shot from different angle with a pack of Marlboro lights on it , so you can tell how huge it really is.
I guess it is only unique and dintinctive to SC430 owners because my sis and friends couldn't obviously tell it even I pointed out this extra piece to them.
To rominl :
I think only very few ppl have this piece.
I spent nearly $700 for it (painted and installed) plus it weights about 3-4 pounds.
I don't know if it will damage the roof motor in the long run.
To sc430mike:
So far I have only seen two used Wald kits for sale here on CL. If you are patient enough, you would probably get one.
I believe the SC430 lip kits that give you the biggest clearence are made by Junction Produce.
You can do some research on it. To me, that JP kits have the cleanest look over others.
Hope you guys can understand my Taiwanese English.

Honestly,I think your SC430 looks really great (the whole pacakge).
In fact, I personally think it looks even better than the one shown in Luxury & Exotics.
A lot of combinations to make the car looks good (color, body kits, rims...).
The most important thing is that it must look right to you
It is time-wasting trying to convince someone else of what is the best because everyone has different taste.
Our taste also changes continually as we are gaining more knowledge.
We should not buy something just because someone else says it is good.
Always do your homework first, so you won't regret it later.
I always love genearch's black SC430 with the whole AutoCouture package, but someone else may not like it at all
like my friends.
Hope to see more Sc430s with dfferent packages here in the future.
And to the vendors, you guys should import more SC430 goodies for us.

GSXOTIC... your car is very nice and clean, 2nd best I've seen. It's the bomb though! The best I've seen (only my opinion obviously) is that Purple one int the galleries section that has both 20" Wald Rims and Body Kit. Please encourage me to get a wald kit so that I can post a great looking car that will rival yours! I'm worried about scraping the s@#t out of it though and I could save the cash of course. The roads are horrible here in San Diego. I will try to post pics of where I'm at soon.
Thanks.
Thanks.

but damn, as soon as we put on the wald kits... it was so joke. my wife picked me up at the airport (first time i saw the car with the kts), i was like holy crap that car is on the gnd..... at the "worst" time, we had ONLY less then 3 inches of clearance in the front. so go figure how we can even get over speed bumps...
and about the kits on the sc430? seriously, worry about the front. the rear is low but it's not that bad, and you actually have the exhaust as the "lowest" point. but the front, and even the sides are problems. even the sides are hella low
of course, keep in mind, there is also a reason why so many of us have this kits even with all the "trouble" with it

Def. a great looking car. Keep up the good work....
