its obviously to late to try these and I hope your purchase makes you happy but a few of us in the ls 430 forum bought the continental extreme contacts and I have to say they are great. very quiet, handle well, good at high speeds [highway] and tolerable at sane speeds in the snow [ transmission in snow start mode]. this tire to me is better than the pilot sport a/s because its much less expensive and has a warranty. michelins do not. still the pilot sports do have their fans which is fine; I am suggesting that those on the fence give this particular conti a try.

 

wow the michelin doesn't have warranty? man that's a first to me....

 

town fair tire and sears and bj's all told me this. since no one has ever produced evidence to the contrary I am accepting the info. its a big reason why I bought the continentals which I think are terrific anyway.

 

ah ic, that's interesting. i never really look at the michelin coz' their prices are just way too outrages for what i get. they might be stickier, but i am not tracking my car and id on't need traction all day long. so i looked at prices more

i had the continental before, they are nice and soft, though i think they are still a tad stiffer than the pzero nero i have now. that's my only comment

Of course, Mich's have warranties.

Go to TireRack.com. They rate both the warranties as 4 stars out of 5.

You could actually say the Mich warranty is better than the Conti.

Mich is 6 years on Workmanship and Materials, Conti is 4.

best tire on the market that is a hi performance all season is the falken ziex 512. Excellen tire (made in Japan), sticks to the road like glue, excellent handeling and only 108 bucks each. I have it on my GS 4.

 

My memory says that most of the discussion here has been about all season tires. While I don't know why, it seems that summer only tires are generally considerably more expensive and maybe that's the reason people opt for the AS tires. Anyway, how about some summer tire experience.

well if you go for big (19 or 20) low profile tires, they are mostly peroformance summer tires
