Just curious headlights?
When our head lights go out, can we just change the bulb for a cheap fix. I saw this you tube video that said a lot of newer cars don’t allow you to change the bulb; that it’s sealed completely and you need to replace the whole light fixture for over 1000 dollars everytime the bulb goes out. What’s the purpose of making people change the whole unit. Why would manufacturers do that
I am not aware of any car that won't let you change the headlight bulb. What people are referring to is rear fixtures. Most are LED and are intended to last the life of the car. So, when and if one goes out (which is unlikely) you have to get a new housing. The 06 on in the SC430 is like this. The older models 05 back have regular bulbs in both the tail and front. I have a newer RX and you can change the headlight bulb but you cannot change any bulb in the rear.
