I would describe them as loud, 'healthy' clicks. I just charged the battery overnight. The reading was 12.2V, as soon as I removed the charger. Hoping that this is a battery issue.

If you charged it overnight and it is still only 12.2 Volts, you definitely need a new battery. Which is actually WAY better then needing a new starter. Will it spin over and start if you put a boost pack on it?

Just a data point....batteries seem to be less reliable than in the past. I put a Duralast Gold in my SC430 in Oct 21 and in July 22 (4k miles later) it was bad and replaced under warrantee. Then in April 24 (another 14k miles) it was bad again...and replaced under warrantee. So don't be quick to think that it is NOT a bad battery...

I had similar experiences as you.
Four Duralast batteries in the past 10 years and all of them were replaced within the three year warranty.

My current batteries are wet cell interstate batteries from Costco. So far so good and a much better price.

THANK YOU- FIXED!
The battery I bought @ Lexus 9 months ago. I never thought it could be the problem- it stated it was '80 month'

I am very grateful for the support.

Ping me when you come to Florida, I'm buying!

Your welcome. Very glad it was something as easy as a battery. Changing the starter isnt hard but it is time consuming. It truly is amazing how often new batteries dies in short order. Other issue is heat kills even great batteries really quick. Florida temperatures will kill one in 18 months easily if it stays hot.

When my battery went dead, I bought an Interstate battery from Costco and it was dead next date. Took it back and got another, it's was good for about 40 months. I'm on the third battery now.

Keep watching. If your car is dead again, you have bigger problem. I hope it's not the case.
