Heres the back drop on this alternator. My distributor was leaking oil and friday (5/2/2014) the battery light came on as soon as I parked my car home from work. Didn't waste anytime just went and bought another and replaced it. Now I've heard that you can thoroughly clean the alternator with brake cleaner and can possibly revive it or if you want to rebuild it be my guest. Selling the alternator for $25
