Default bike rack on SC

hey guys, do any of you have a yakima/thule roof rack on your SC's? i bike nearly every weekend and do not want to put the rack on my new IS. i have searched and found a few pictures but nothing very clear.

i do not want one that attached to the trunk. i realize the SC wont look great with a rack on top but i have to go with whats pragmatic. thanks guys.

you could just get a trunk mounted one.

Get a hitch and bike rack. Protect everything and easy to take off when not in need.

i already have a yakima rack and prefer to use one of these over the trunk mounted racks. i have come across several pictures of the roof racks on SC's but nothing really clear.

product.sc, i agree with you. i have the same rack on my 2002 toyota solara. i think it would look even better on an SC.

Hitch mounted bike racks are soooo much better than roof racks. I used Yakama and Prealpina roof racks on my Honda, Mercedes and Volvo cars in the 70s and 80s but I've used the same hitch bike rack on my Lexus LS cars for the past 18 years - best $50 I ever spent.

With a hitch rack, you get rid of the awful wind noise that you have to put up when you use a roof rack. And you don't have to worry about forgetting that your bikes are on top and driving into an underground parking lot, a garage, or one of those above ground parking lots with an overhead height restrictors.

It is way easier to slip bikes onto a hitch rack than to hoist them on top of a car. Also, a hitch rack can be turned into a mobile workstand when you need to make repairs (fix flats, change sprockets, etc.) on a bike or even just when mounting all the stuff (bags, pump, bottles, etc.) you need when going for a long ride.

lol, thanks guys but i think i am sticking with the roof rack. i think it will make the SC look a little better. i spent about 500 on the roof rack so i will be using it for a while. i am not a fan of the trunk mounted ones. thanks again.

Well I got to say. I cant see any bike rack improving the look of any car. Just my opinion, Practical? Yes! Not ugly? Can be. Improve the look of a car? Nope

EPIC FAIL, HAHA
I mountain bike I thought of bike racks but I couldn't do that to my baby. It's like having a hot GF that wears those ugly prego shirts you know what I'm talking about? Some chicks buy shirts that make it look like their pregnant why?!?!?

My 2 cents I'd get a hitch mount. Less chance of scratching up your car and easily removable.
