black interior conversion! This is what i would like to do
I think you best bet would be to find a junk SC with black int. If my memory is correct, I believe Angel attempted to do this a while back but eventually quit b/c it was too much of a hassle and not worth the money. Good luck though.
Anyone remember the talk of molecubond? :

Did anyone ever do a full conversion with this product? It's definitely the most economincal solution.

I've had a black interior conversion done by a motor trimmer here. Just waiting for the Recaro front seats to arrive now. They're on a boat as I type this. Check out the picture below for the results.
Hey, sorry for the late reply... I wasn't able to post on CL for a little while (nothing bad, just a DB error
)
Molecubond is great for items that won't be used much, like a dash. I used molecubond on my gear shift and it is still black except around the stiching (some brown is showing through). It sucks on anything hard plastic. but its better to use spraypaint on something like that. Where my palm rests on the gear shift, the black isn't shiny any longer. I'll get a pick up tommorow for you all.

Thanks. It used to be the beige and tan interior. I wanted to coordinate the dash and door trims and back seats to match the front seats I've ordered so I had him trim with Recaro fabric. I'm happy with the results and think it gives the interior a bit of a sporty look to it. The only areas I'm thinking about re-doing are the areas that have been painted. I think it might chip fairly easily so I'm thinking of sending those parts that haven't been trimmed in fabric to a company here called "Modicoat" for re-finishing in either plain black or carbon fibre. Modicoat do an awesome job but aren't cheap. Apparently they can match and surface pattern or design you supply them exactly. Below is a picture of a job they did on the centre console for a guy in our club (ALSC). Looks awesome and much better than the kits you can buy to stick on.
Wasn't cheap I can assure you. The problem is that where I live there aren't many motor trimmers and even more so not many I'd trust with an import car so there not much competition. As a result they can charge what they like. The total job was nearly AU$7000 of which the supply of the Recaros, manufacturing of base frames to suit plus installation, was just over AU$3000. I was thinking of fitting the Recaro SRs but had similar seats in a previous car and found the large(ish) shoulder bolsters a bit restrictive on a long trip. Besides I've got a three year old daughter who sits in the back and it would make reaching her when required a bit hard. So I went for the N-Joy (see pic below) which still provides good lateral support for fast cornering but isn't as restrictive. Like I said it was an expensive job and would have been a lot cheaper if I hadn't used the Recaro cloth throughout the car. The price did include doing the entire car though, except the seatbelts. He did the door trims, dash, centre console, carpets, front and back seats, rear quarter panel, rear parcel shelf (including embossed Lexus logo), trunk.....everything.

Those recaro's are very nice, very comfy too imo.
