This thing is coming along really nicely! I love seeing someone willing to put the time and effort into bringing a car that sits back to its former glory.

Thanks! Not much done today. Started by cleaning up the sunroof rails and un clogging the drain lines. Backed it out the garage to clean up garage. Then I squirreld…. So radiator shroud off, then fan and belt. Backed it down driveway to minimize mess then pulled hoses and radiator. Once all that came out with the rusty mud I preceded to removing the air box and thermostat housing. The hoses were crunchy with rust. Since I was that far I pulled the ps pump out of the bracket to start tracing that leak. Well that turned into power washing again so I used the washer to flush out the engine block. Lots of gunk then other greasy areas and onto the inside and out of the radiator. Pretty sure the radiator is junk anyway so if I hurt it I won’t loose sleep. Then started it and quickly drove it back in garage to dry out. Maybe tomorrow I will pull the ac compressor and replace the leaky oil pressure sensor.

Morning y’all, hopefully y’all can help me identify this sensor while i scour the internet to find it. So far I have pulled the ps and ac comp and took out the oil psi sensor. My buddy said it leaked so away it goes while I try to order a new one. Whil I am that far in i see two other sensors. One with a green plug and one with a gray plug. What are they?

and to address the ps leak. Here is the area it comes down under the car. Could the hose need to be tightened and if so is there a torque rating for it? I know search is my friend and I will be searching for these answers in the mean time.

Got some brake clean from advanced auto and a oil pressure switch. Surprising they had one. Not oem but will work. Also grabbed some plugs. Will have to order the rest of the tune up stuff as well as valve cover gaskets and a thermostat and hoses. Cleaned everything up then used drill to cycle the ps pump to hopefully make it leak! Then I can see when it’s coming from.

The sensor with a gray plug built onto it is a knock sensor. There are two identical ones on the intake side of the engine block. Best to use OEM for those IF you ever need to replace one.

The sensor with the green plug on it from the engine harness I’m not sure of offhand. Is that one located on the engine block surface or on the cylinder head surface?

From what I can see its on the head. I believe its the water temp sensor.

Haven't done much these past few days. ordered some parts, took the reservoir off the PS pump and determined the o-ring is leaking. Not sure if it needs a square one or a regular round one will do. Been too cold to go outside and work on it. Still need to order a few other items but I think I should have it all drivable maybe mid next month.

Not much today, had to work on brakes for my truck. Still waiting for parts to get in over the next few days. Started working on the headlights. Not too sure if these are going to clean up well. Hit them with 6 and 1200 then a polishing wheel. Will try more this week.

Replaced o-ring on ps pump resovoir. Put ac and pump back on motor. Cycled pump to remove air. Now waiting to see any leaks. Took maf sensor out and cleaned it and replaced air filter. Got my blinker module back from relentless Motorsports, blinks like a charm! Replaced front pads rotors and calipers as well today. They came with the car and I was tired of looking at them on my shelf lol. Still waiting for the rest of the tune up parts to arrive then I’ll tear into it, get a leak down and compression test while replacing the valve cover gaskets. Will probably replace all vacuum lines when I do the valve cover as well.

still on my list of future repairs, send off ecu, repair ac panel, get a new radio, get gauges repaired, need shift and parking brake boots and seat covers. So far I got 400 into this car. Wanted to stay sub 1k but don’t see it happening. Hope it’s a good driver when I’m done.

Picture heavy, be warned…..lol. Got back from dentist early so decided to finish tearing off the covers and plugs. Wow. What a mess

eeew as my wife would say. Also I think I need a new distributor. The electronics inside are cracked

got most of the gunk cleaned and new plugs installed. Cap and rotor you can guess…..dead

I need to figure out which hose is in the back so I can replace while I am here. Also I think a valve cover is toast. Not sure if it leaks. Will clean and inspect tomorrow. Might just epoxy it.

If you ever hear of a 95-00 parts car snag the high beams they are glass and wont yellow

I checked a navy blue one sc300 out, honestly loved the color on it but the car was pretty rough and was a easy pass

you killed that interior great work man, I'm gonna be stripping mine soon and trying to dye/paint it black

keep up the work man, sc300 feels really special to me on the road
youll enjoy it a ton when you get it riding around

Done and running. Still will need to replace distributor and I need to bleed the brakes before I can put tires in test drive. Ran it for 20 minutes held a good temperature well I filled up the radiator with coolant I also need to find out why the heater won’t blow hot. I think the valve is not opening up for the heater core to let the fluid move through.
