Funky noise from the window switch
^^ heres a video of my issue. This was happening before the aluminum door panels so that didnt cause it... it very rarely happens with a closed door but always when the door is open
the other threads I've looked through had a completely nonfunctioning window
symptoms:
when drivers door is open 100% of the time, Drivers side window switches do not function and make that BEEEEP noise.
It does work 99% of the time if the door was not closed completely as if you didnt put enough force behind closing the door, and when the door is shut normal.
1% of the time ill get the BEEEP with a properly closed door
When its malfunctioning pressing the switches seem to lock/unlock the doors
Thanks for any and all help :-)

Most likely you wore through the wiring harness that goes into the door panel between the fender and door. Look at the rubber boot near the hinges of the door. You'll probably see that you wore through the rubber boot and probably some of the wires. If you know how to solder, then just resolder the wires that got messed up, put some shrink tube or electrical tape around it and then wrap the whole thing in something that will buy you another decade or so lol. Its a common issue with these cars. I had it on my 95. Luckily the 99 doesn't have the same issue. I've tried to shift the boot a bit so it rubs less but its still doing it, Not sure if there is a way to avoid it. Maybe lube?
